When Michael Hoffmann and Roland Horres founded the company in 1999 as a spin-off from the RWTH University of Technology in Aachen, they had high ambitions from the start. Their research focused on biomimicry; their goal was to develop coatings for medical implants that are highly compatible with human blood and tissue.

Ten years later Hemoteq is not only an expert in hemocompatible surfaces, but also a renowned manufacturing pioneer in polymer-based and polymer-free drug-eluting coatings. A broad repertoire of unique platform technologies and a strong intellectual property portfolio allow the company to create competitive, innovative products for a wide range of clinical and biomedical applications. Today Hemoteq serves medical device manufacturers around the globe. They range from start up to worldwide known leaders in medical technology.

Our domicile is in Germany, at the city of Wuerselen, near Aachen.
